Final Products and Feedback (Canon)

Image
Magazine Cover Feedback The primary criticism of my magazine cover, was that the cover lines were hard to read due to the color of the text, my audience also disliked the white background on the camera and the font I used. The changes I made in response to feedback were, downloading the font Canon uses for their logo from Dafont, removing the white background of the camera, changing the color of the text in order to make the cover lines more visible and adding a yellow text bubble in order to emulate the cover design of other magazines. Poster Feedback The feedback for my poster was to add the model of camera that I used to take the photos.

Post Production Diary (Canon)

27.2.23:   I started by editing my camera photos in order to create a reflection effect in the camera lens, I did this by using the eraser tool in the first image to make the lens area transparent, I then put the second image under the original layer on photoshop, I then reduced the opacity of the second image and put my image of Penshaw monument bellow both images. I used a Canon logo from my pitch presentation and scaled it so it would cover the logo on the camera, which was a criticism of my concept posters from my Focus Group. I am currently experimenting with the font of my slogan as well as the colors of my poster. 28.2.23:  I completed my magazine cover, which I started the day prior, I used a real camera magazine as reference for what I could add to the cover to make it feel more authentic, for example a barcode in the bottom left corner. I used a different font for my text as the font was a common criticism from my focus group, as well as the font, I also changed...

Production: Main Project (Canon)

27.2.23 During the week, I took photos of the Winter Gardens as well as Penshaw Monument using my phone's camera. I arrived at each location via my dad's car, I only had a short period of time to take my photos due to my dad's work schedule. I used wide shots for my photos and worked within the rule of third, The photo was taken from a low angle as I could include the entire monument from ground level. My idea is to use the Winter gardens Photos for my Magazine cover and use my Penshaw Monument photos for my poster. I took excess photos from different angles to have different options during the post production process. I cropped the original image so that they would match the dimensions of my poster and magazine. The image bellow of Penshaw Monument was taken from ground level and across the street and therefore lampposts and people can be seen, in order to create my posters I am planning to crop the lampposts out of the image. I took photos of the colleges DSLR cameras in...

Flat Plans These are my ideas for my poster’s layout based on previous canon print adverts. The first flat plan is some what crowded with the logo ,text and image being close together.  The third flat plan has the logo closer to the center of the image which isn’t seen on other posters. The second flat plan is what I will use for my product as it reflects the minimalism seen in other posters by canon. For my posters, I used the third flat plan for my basis for the designs but decided to make the camera more prominent in the background. The color scheme of the background for my poster should be white as it helps the dark camera stand out from the background, the text is going to be a dark red in order to match the Canon logo I am also planning to download the font Canon used for their logo in order to create cohesion between the logo and slogan.
